LDA officials are busy preparing for a unique ceremony. LDA secretary MP Mishra confirms that on this Independence Day, LDA employees will hold Gangajal in one hand and take a pledge to not accept bribes anymore.
Talking to TOI, Mishra said, ���We do have such a proposal in mind as the intent is to refurbish the image of LDA. The problem is that till the time people here don���t get ���something��� they will not do a thing.���
Immediately after the flag hoisting ceremony, employees of the Lucknow Development Authority will be asked to take a pledge that they will work honestly, sincerely and not have any ���ulterior expectations��� while carrying out what is their routine job.
Queried about the Gangajal part and from where this quantum of holy water will come Mishra said, ���It has been discussed but the final decision will rest with the VC���.
So while environmentalists haggle over the purity or pollution of the Ganges and the central government pumps in money under the Clean Ganga programme, the LDA will certainly be putting the water of the holy river to good use.
